MPs Hon Mwago, Hon Mwenje and Hon Ndolo congratulate new Nairobi speaker Ken Ngondi

Starehe Member of Parliament Amos Mwago and his Embakasi West counterpart Mark Mwenje and former makadara Mp Reuben Ndolo were among the leaders who have congratulated former MCA Ken Ngondi who was today elected the speaker of the Nairobi City County assembly.

Ngondi gannered 67 votes in the second rpind of voting beating Kenya Kwanza candidate Hassan Robow. He was voted by the MCA’ s during the first sitting of the county assembly where the MCA’s were also sworn in to start their term.
“Congratulations my friend Ken Ngondi on your election as the Nairobi City County Assembly Speaker,” Starehe MP Amos Mwago said.
“I assure you of my support and that of the people of Srarehe and Nairobi as a whole,” he the first time legislator added.

Mark Mwenje, the MP for Embakasi West praised Ngondi upon his election noting that the speaker will lead the assembly with wisdom.

“I take this opportunity to congratulate New Nairobi County assembly speaker Ken Ngondi and wish you well as you take over the leadership of the house,” Mwenje said. “Having been a former deputy speaker, I know you have what it takes to propel the Assembly to great heights,” he noted
Former Makadara MP veteran politician Reuben Ndolo said also praised Ngondi wishing him well in his new role
.
“My congratulations to Nairobi county assembly speaker Ken Ngondi for being elected the Speaker. Your proven leadership and wisdom will help in leading the assembly to deliver to the people of Nairobi,” Reuben Ndolo, said.
Ngondi replaces former speaker the former Makadara MP Benson Mutura who was struck out of the election for speaker in the Assembly which is dominated by Azimio la Umoja- One Kenya coalition.
Mihango MCA Paul Kados was elected in opposed to the position of deputy speaker.
