Team Igathe accuses Sakaja of being a copy cat as Nairobi gubernatorial race reaches fever pitch.

As the political campaigns ahead of the upcoming August 9th general elections continue to gather momentum, different aspirants for varied seats have developed different campaign strategies in a bid to woo voters to their respective camps.

In Nairobi, the Jubilee party and Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Gubernatorial aspirant Polycarp Igathe entered the race with a different type of campaign strategy away from the norm of politicians traversing their constituency a top of the top-of-the-range vehicles.

Igathe on the campaign trail.
Sakaja on the campaign trail too.

The former Equity Bank Group Chief Operations Officer took to talking directly to the voters in a campaign strategy never seen before where Igathe has been campaigning without vehicles and meeting residents directly at their places of business hustles and homes.

Above and below Igathe and Sakaja in similar stunts on the campaign trail.

Igathe has in recent weeks taken to join Nairobi residents at their places of work, rising up early and boarding matatus, the commuter train, and even trekking to industrial area with pedestrians on their way to work in a bid to share in the experiences that the people of Nairobi go through on a day to day basis.

Igathe has in the recent past been visiting markets, shops and stalls to talk to traders understanding their issues and learning their needs in his continued Nairobi Tuitakavyo campaign.

In doing this, the corporate head, who has gathered immense experience at governance and administration during his illustrious career in management, has gained a lot of admiration from the Nairobi residents and this has propelled his ratings slightly above Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja in opinion polls conducted recently.

In a typical copycat style, the senator who is also running for the Nairobi Governor seat has turned to adopt Igathe’s style of campaign after panicking.

Sakaja, who majority of Nairobi resident don’t remember anything that he has done to benefit the people of Nairobi, both as Senator and Nominated Member of Parliament has now been painstakingly turning to a comic like copycat campaigns which every Nairobi resident has easily noticed that Sakaja is copying Igathe campaign strategy. This has further worked to confirm their fears that indeed Sakaja has nothing to offer Nairobi if he cannot even develop a simple campaign strategy for himself.

The shameless Sakaja has even started producing videos almost with exact design and concept similar to what Igathe has been using to reach out to voters on social media.
