The businessman believes that his development track record will end the one term per MP cycle that has been witnessed in the area exuding confidence that he will win re-election in 2027 due to the work that he will deliver to the constituency.
“I will not let you down like those who have come before me. I will work for Makadara and I know that I will not be a one term MP like my predecessors,” Waithaka said.
“I was born and brought up in Makadara and I still live in Makadara. We have been electing leaders and most of them have performed dismally. They have terribly let us down,” He said.
“Today I am contesting for this position because of the realization that no one has the interest of the constituency at heart. Of all the leaders we have been elected before, only a few have worked for us many have done nothing that’s why Makadara has kept electing different people every election,” Waithaka noted
“We believe in one of our own but they kept letting us down. I promise my people I know what should been done to achieve the much needed development in Makadara. I promise I will do it. I will work for you all and I will offer servant leadership which is key for me,” he added.
Makadara constituency has in the past consistently voted for MPs for only one term. Notable former area MPs includes Kenya Professional Boxing Commission chairman Reuben Ndolo, former Nairobi Mayor the late Dick Wathika, former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko, Benson Mutura and the outgoing MP George Aladwa who is also the ODM Party Nairobi chairman.
