Blow to Mwendwa as SDT squashes the decision by FKF to end the league.

Sports Dispute Tribunal has stopped cancellation of the 2019-20 season pending hearing of a case brought before it by Chemelil Sugar FC and Kenyan Premier League (KPL)
Nick Mwendwa in his capacity as Fkf president had taken to his twitter and announced the cancellation of the league thus handing Gor Mahia the title for 2019/2020 season.
Football Kenya Federation (FKF) ended the season over the Coronavirus pandemic and declared Gor Mahia Kenyan Premier League champions.
Mwendwa cited a rule which states that “Where the league format due to circumstances of force majeure fails to be completed within the season, the league winner shall be determined as follows; Where all the Clubs in the league have completed the first round fixture but less than 75% league games have been played, the table standings at the end of the first round shall be considered as the final table standing of the league.
The decision by Mwendwa/Fkf did not please several stakeholders with both Afc leopards and Kakamega fc crying foul.
But Chemelil Sugar, who felt aggrieved having suffered relegation and KPL, who equally contested the move, want the decision overturned.
Kpl the league body had also written to caf seeking intervention over the stalemate before moving to SDT.
Now SDT has temporarily squashed the decision by Mwendwa pending determination and hearing of the case.
With the Ohaga led team having made several decisions against FKF, we can only wait and see how this one goes
