Blow to ANC as Harambee MCA aspirant Kuka Imbenzi joins Azimio la umoja.

Harambee Ward Member of County Assembly (MCA) aspirant Franklyn ‘Kukaa’ Imbenzi has now decamped to Jubilee party from ANC and joined the Azimio la Umoja as campaigns for the August 9th elections take shape.

The Kenya Professional Boxing Commission (KPBC) Secretary General announced his move from the ANC party and resolve to join the Azimio bandwagon following the recent move by ANC to join hands with Deputy President William Ruto in forming the Kenya Kwanza coalition.

Imbenzi, who is vying for the Harambee ward in Nairobi’s Makadara constituency, joined Jubilee party which is supporting the Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga in his bid to become Kenya’s fifth President.

He had previously shown support for the ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi but bolted when Mudavadi joined the Ruto campaign adding to the growing list of the Azimio la Umoja proponents in Nairobi.

Imbenzi has also thrown his weight behind the candidature of Makadara constituency parliamentary front runner Anthony Waithaka.

Imbenzi is a long time boxing official who has a long history in grassroots mobilisation through sports in Nairobi.

The KPBC Secretary General an was instrumental in the election of current Makadara MP George Aladwa where he put up spirited campaigns at the grassroot for the former Mayor to win the Makadara parliamentary seat.

He is a former Boxing promoter, referee, judge, inspector and official.
