Many people had hoped that the merger was going to give Mudavadi a new impetus to help him rejuvinate his party. Alas the opposite is true since UDA has invaded Mudavadi’s bedroom and come out with over 20 aspirants.
After a successful 11 days tour of USA and England, Ruto received several aspirants who had initially indicated their willingness to vie on ANC some of them current serving members of the county assembly.

Kibwareng ward MCA and a closer ally of Mudavadi Hon Jacakson Swadi was perharps the surprise aspirant to ditch ANC.
It is believed that Swadi made the surprise move after it became clear that ANC had made a decision to give the senatorial ticket to Ken Butiko who hails from Bunyore. The move is aimed at neutralising Osotsi who is currently riding high on ODM which is under Azimio.
Under this very arrangement, ANC will be fronting Sabatia MP Hon Agoi for governor.
Others who have ditched ANC for UDA and were received by Ruto at his Karen home include Mr Sloya who rose to prominence after the demise of his brother Macleans Sloya, Nixon Butiya , Beru and Atsiaya.
The defection of Swadi to UDA now leaves James Babira and Kennedy Butiko to battle it out during ANC primaries.
Whoever will win the ANC ticket will battle ut out with Hon Osotsi who will be flying the ODM flag.
