March 11th, 2022: Isiolo North parliamentary candidate Lucy Mworia yesterday continued to drum up support for the candidature of ODM leader Raila Oding’s Presidential bid as the Azimio La Umoja leader toured Meru region to woo voters ahead of the August 9, 2022 polls.
Mworia, a former Ms President Reality TV Show contestant and women activist who is vying for the Isiolo North seat on a Devolution Empowerment Party (BUS party) ticket, was a star attraction during the Azimio La Umoja rally at Maili Tatu in Igembe south in Meru county where she called on residents to support the BUS Party leader Kiraitu Murungi and Odinga in the upcoming elections.
“We are fully behind our Azimio La Umoja leaders and fully support our party leader Kiraitu Murungi in his engagement with Azimio la Umoja leaders,” Mworia said.
“We want to be in the next government and our party leader has seen far and with his experience, we know we are in the right direction,” She said.
Donned in yellow Kitenge, complete with a matching head gear- the colours of the BUS party, Mworia was at the centre of activity in the rally at which Raila was accompanied by the host Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi, Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho, Siaya Senator James Orengo, Kieni MP Kanini Kega and Devolution Empowerment Party chairman Lenny Kivuti.
Last week, Raila drummed up support for Mworia’s candidature saying she is the best bet for Isiolo North.
“Vote for Mama, I know her very well she was in ODM and I am sure that she will deliver on her mandate as the area Member of Parliament (MP),” said Raila told a rally in Isiolo.
The former Prime Minister endorsed Mworia, an award winning nurse for the seat, when he attended the Mbus party meeting in Meru where Meru Governor Kiraitu declared that the BUS had joined the Azimio la Umoja alliance bandwagon.
Murungi officially announced that his Devolution Empowerment Party porpularly known as BUS has joined the Azimio La Umoja movement and the party will back ODM leader Raila Odinga in his fifth Presidential bid.
Mworia was endorsed for the seat during the official launch of Devolution Empowerment Party -Isiolo Chapter that was officiated by the Bus party leader Meru Governor H.E Gov. Kiraitu Murungi and attended by a host of other national and grassroots party leaders and aspirants from various counties.
