Hon. Aladwa Leads Nairobi Leaders in Strong Call for Peace on Saba Saba Day

Nairobi, Kenya – July 7, 2025
As Kenya marked the 35th anniversary of the historic Saba Saba pro-democracy movement, a team of Nairobi leaders led by Makadara MP Hon. George Aladwa came out strongly in support of peace and unity amid nationwide protests.

Flanked by Hon. Beatrice Elachi (Mama Dago), Senator Karen Nyamu, Senator Tabitha Mutinda, and Lang’ata MP Phelix Odiwuor (Jalang’o), the leaders urged Kenyans—particularly the youth—not to fall prey to incitement, hate speech, or political manipulation.

“Saba Saba is about democracy, not destruction. Let’s honor its legacy with dignity,” Hon. Aladwa stated passionately.

The leaders reaffirmed the constitutional right to peaceful protest while condemning acts of violence and tribal hate. They emphasized the need for constructive dialogue to address grievances like police brutality, corruption, and the high cost of living.

“If your goal is to incite or loot, you have no place in leadership,” added Jalang’o.

As thousands rallied nationwide, the leaders’ unified message was clear: Kenyans must protect their democratic space without compromising national peace.
