A County Blessed, Yet Betrayed

“Vihiga does not lack potential — it lacks integrity, vision, and courage in leadership.”

Vihiga is a land kissed by nature and crowned with promise — rivers that whisper of power, soils rich with life, and people whose spirit is unbreakable. Yet, beneath this beauty lies a heartbreaking truth: a county so full of potential, yet held hostage by poor leadership and corruption.

For over a decade of devolution, Vihiga has watched others soar while it stagnates — not because we lack resources, but because we have lacked honesty, discipline, and vision at the top. The dreams of our people have been dimmed by greed, and their faith in leadership eroded by betrayal.

The Failure of Leadership

The story of Vihiga’s stagnation is not written in our soil or sky — it is written in our politics. Funds meant for development vanish without trace. Promises multiply every election season but fade with the ballots.

Our leaders have turned service into a personal enterprise, leaving ordinary citizens to wrestle with poverty, joblessness, and crumbling infrastructure. Vihiga’s biggest crisis is not poverty of resources — it is poverty of integrity.

A People of Strength and Promise

Despite it all, Vihiga’s heartbeat remains strong. Our youth are brilliant and ambitious. Our women are innovative, resilient, and relentless in the face of adversity. Our men work tirelessly to feed their families and keep the county moving.

Yet, the energy of our people has not been matched by leadership that channels their potential into progress. What we need now is not another set of promises, but leaders of substance — men and women driven by service, not self-interest.

“Do not wait to be led; step forward and lead.”

A Call to Women and Youth

To my fellow women and youth — you are the Kioo cha Jamii, the mirror of our society. The time has come to rise, to contest, to speak, and to shape the future of this county.

No one will hand us the change we desire. We must claim it. We must lead it.

Our voices, our votes, and our vision will determine whether Vihiga remains trapped in old cycles or breaks free into a new era of accountability and progress.

The Road to 2027 — A Turning Point

As 2027 approaches, we must stand united and resolute. This is the moment to demand integrity over corruption, vision over political theater, and results over rhetoric.

Together, we can rebuild Vihiga — not through blame, but through bold, honest leadership.
The dawn of a new Vihiga is possible — and it begins with us.
