10% demands blamed for Ingwe’s dwindling fortunes as members point an accusing finger on the Shikanda led leadership

Afcl leopards heads to its annual General Meeting on Sunday at the Nyayo national stadium amid accusations  and counter accusations within Nec and the entire membership.

Dr Shikanda led triumvirate of Andugu Gilbert and Oliver Napali as SG and treasurer are facing a daunting task on Sunday even as members question their leadership at the helm.

The club enjoys a lucrative deal of over 50Million per yr from Betika and a loyal fun base that supports the club everywhere in the country. This financial support and the fanatical following from the membership has failed to produce any silverware this season. This misery has agitated the fans upto a point of baying for the blood of the trio ie Shilanda, Andugu and Napali.

According to the CoC Mr Kuka Imbenzi  , the club is facing some temporal turbulence but stability will come soon.

His sentiments are not shared by several club members who accuse the club boss Dr Daniel Akala Shikanda of milking the starving leopard dry.

# Club chairman accused of demanding 10% from all the monetary proceeds due to the club.

A section of AFC Leopards members have accused the club president of demanding 10% whenever the club receives any cash.

We are disturbed by these allegations that our chairman  either directly or through his proxies has been demanding 10% from all the financial gains due to AFC leopards.  From gate collections to even sponsorship deals which has forced or scared potential investors. Even after a Harambee somebody somewhere wants to make money out of it. This is absurd, and irresponsible ” lamented a member from Rongai branch who did not wish to be named due to the sensitivity of the matter.

Ingwe has struggled at the tail end of this season by registering mixed results and especially after beating Gor Mahia.

According to Abbas Khayaga a fan from Shamakhokho in Vihiga county, the current Ingwe leadership under Shikanda should be sent home on Sunday.

“We cannot brag that we are a soccer  powerhouse by finishing at position 8. The current regime has failed and when we hear allegations that an official goes for 10% we feel badly betrayed. Members must rise to the occasion and sort this matter once and for all” he said.

By the time of going to press, efforts to get the club chairman react to this proved futile.

The issue of 10% popped up when Betika sponsorship  happened and some percent was demanded.

Upon speaking to club SG Gilbert Andugu, we established that the issue of 10% was actually the one fuelling bad blood at Ingwe leadership.

As long as Iam still the club SG, I will protect every coin that belongs to this club. On the 10% issue I donot wish to comment further but members will know the truth on Sunday during the AGM” said the club SG.
