Mathew Abong’o: Youths &Women empowernment key to growth.

‘Youths are the future of every nation’ goes the age old saying.

Many people have echoed the old age adage on the youths being future leaders but little is being done to prepare them for a better future.

It is due to this that Kiongozi Mathew Abong’o has taken pro active steps to aid in ensuring that our youths are actively engaged to ensure a better future.

The city businessman and a strategic management expert, Mr Abong’o  holds education and youths and women issues dear to his heart.

While engaging the youths and community leaders at Kabiro Community school on Saturday, Kiongozi Abong’o laid bare some of the core areas he would wish to engage in helping transform Dagoretti North a place he calls home despite his ancestral place of birth being in Western part of the country.

“We can make this country better by improving the areas we spend most of our time in. We spend much of our time here and therefore we must make deliberate efforts to make this place better if DN is better, Mumias will be better, Seme will be better, Garsen will be better and Kenya will grow” Abong’o said.

The Youths & Women Agenda.
While imploring the youths to be foward looking, Mr Abong’o has urged the youths to take deliberate steps which will enable them grow.
To ensure growth, he has requested the youth in DN to form themselves into groups of atleast 10 to enable them tap into the many potentials available.

“There is alot we can do while working with the youths. I am personally ready and willing to hold your hands and assist but you must organize yourselves into groups of atleast 10 , with a clear leadership structure and with a name so that we can start any gainful venture.This should go all out in all our wards ” added Mr Abong’o.

Women too are not left behind,
“When you give a woman a biro to go sell, she will trade well, get profit to go buy food while still remaining with some cash to inject back in the business as capital” he said.

It is at this backdrop that Kiongozi Abong’o has further requested the women to step up and through their existing groups and those to be formed work closely with him to better lives.

Kazi Mtaani initiative.
While commenting on the government’s effort’s through the Kazi Mtaani Initiative, Mr Abong’o lamented its unsustainability but said it was a good intervention programme during this Covid 19 hard times. Kiongozi Abong’o will be distributing disposable masks,drinking water among other things in support of the gallant youths working within Dagoretti North.

Inclusivity and Unity.
While emphasizing on the importance of working together as one great family of Dagoretti North, Kiongozi Abong’o urged all people not to sow seeds of discriminations within Dagoretti North.
“We should always look at each other as brothers and sisters not based on our tribes, religion or party affiliations. We must unite to tackle

# Insecurity
# Unemployement
# education and better life orpportunities for all.” added Abong’o.

All the leaders drawn from across the 5 wards of Dagoretti North pledged to work with him in achieving the above.
” We have listened and heard you well, the task ahead therefore is to work in achieving all the above, we are ready to walk with you even as 2022 approaches” Mr Baraza a leader from Kileleshwa  said.


While accepting the kind words ftom Mr Baraza, Kiongozi Abong’o told all and sundry that with all on board, #MbeleIko sawa.
This prompted Denno to lead in chants of Abong’o eeh’! Abong’o aah!.
