Wakili Mirimo Nyongesa: The People’s Lawyer Inspiring Gen Z to Register and Lead Change

City lawyer, businessman, and community advocate Wakili Mirimo Nyongesa has called on young Kenyans to seize the moment and register as voters, describing the ongoing voter registration exercise as a defining moment for a generation that holds the power to reshape Kenya’s future.

Mirimo, who has declared his intention to contest the Dagoretti North parliamentary seat in 2027, urged Gen Zs to step up and become active participants in nation-building through the ballot.
Riding on his now-popular clarion call #TeamConfirm, the youthful lawyer spent Sunday, October 5th, traversing different parts of Dagoretti North in a series of whistle-stop engagements. From Kawangware to Gatina, and from 56 to Kabiro, Mirimo mingled freely with residents — listening, encouraging, and challenging the youth to take their civic responsibility seriously.
“The power to transform this country is in your hands,” he told a cheering crowd in Kawangware. “Let us not complain about leadership if we cannot show up to register as voters. We must be the generation that confirms change through action.”
Faith, Roots, and Leadership
At Hillside Friends Church in Kawangware 56, where he joined congregants for Sunday service, Mirimo received a warm reception. In his remarks, he decried rising insecurity in the area and blamed it on what he described as ineffective leadership with no youth agenda at heart.
when you see the poor oppressed and justice denied, you shouldn’t be surprised because one official is watched by a higher one, and even higher officials exist above them.
“I am blessed to be among this congregation, and I thank the man of God for his inspiring message of faith,” he said. “By the grace of God, I will be offering myself for election as your next Member of Parliament. I was born and raised here — I know what bedevils our people, because I have lived it.”

Mirimo’s story is one of resilience and purpose. Drawing parallels from Moses, the biblical figure who was raised in the king’s palace but never forgot his people, he pledged to remain grounded and faithful to his community.
“I know what it means to go without food or school fees. My triumph over such challenges shows that we can all rise
At Induma Self-Help Group, under the leadership of Edgar Litunda — who is also eyeing the Kabiro Ward MCA seat — Mirimo donated KSh 20,000 and promised to continue walking with the group in their empowerment journey.
“I’m proud of what young people like Litunda are doing,” he said. “The emancipation of our people from poverty is not a slogan — it’s a mission. I am fully committed to walking that journey with you.”
The Induma group, which focuses on poultry farming and small-scale trade, received assurance of Mirimo’s continued mentorship and partnership.
“I will walk with you until you succeed. This is how we rebuild our community — step by step, hand in hand,” he affirmed.
A Name That Will Define 2027
As political conversations in Dagoretti North begin to gather momentum ahead of 2027, one name keeps emerging at the center of every discussion — Wakili Mirimo Nyongesa.
With his mix of humility, faith, professional excellence, and unwavering connection to the people, many residents already see him as the fresh, unifying, and people-centered leader the constituency has long yearned for.
If his growing grassroots appeal and strong rapport with Gen Z are anything to go by, one thing is certain — when Dagoretti North 2027 is being discussed, the name Mirimo will be central.
