Nairobi 11/05/22.

From a humble beginning to rubbing shoulders with top politicians. This is a clear manifestation of the famous Igbo quote that says  when a child washes his hands, he will dine with kings.

Meet Oscar Binyenya a youthful politician who is reliving his dream in Gatina ward.

But who is Oscar Binyenya?

Well born in mid 80s in Bungoma county, Oscar had a humble upringing. The virtues of hard work were over emphasized  to him by his parents.

“I was born and raised up in the countryside by my parents. My childhood was no different from other village boys but my parents were strict disciplinarian and insisted on hard work both at home and school work” Oscar said.

Upon finishing his KCSE he joined a tertiary institution in the city where he persued Business Management courses and excelled with a diploma.

Upon completing my high school studies, I enrolled for further studies where I studied Business Management. This was driven by my love for business” added Oscar.

Why politics?
Growing up, I used to admire politicians like the late Wamalwa Kijana and Masinde Muliro. It was therefore natural that when I grew up I ventured into politics not for material gain but to serve and speak for the  voiceless” Oscar.

Gatina ward has some very unique challenges which require collective approach. We wanted to know how he intends to address them.

“It is true that Gatina has several challenges that no one person can solve alone. For instance the challenges  of unempoyement amongst our youths have bred insecurity. Most of our young boys and girls have resorted to drugs and it is now upon us to rehabilitate them and bring hope to our community. I have personally taken that initiative and atleast some young people have reformed.

I have further helped some young ladies start small businesses to help them earn a living. This I have done in my capacity as a private citizen but with some small elevation as an MCA I know we can do much” continued Oscar.

Kenya Kwanza or Azimio.
Oscar Binyenya is a staunch supporter of Hon Musalia Mudavadi and a life member of ANC party. It was therefore natural for him to join the Kenya Kwanza coalition where Mudavadi is a principal.

“I am a founder member of ANC and my politics have all along gravitated towards Musalia Mudavadi. I offered myself for nomination on ANC ticket and the great people of Gatina gave me the mandate to run on our party ANC. I believe with their support we shall not only deliver victory but also help transform Gatina.”

Oscar prides himself as a home boy who connects well with the youth in the hood.
As a businessman and a former Nairobi county liquor board Chairman for Dagoretti North, he has managed to blend in well with the authority and opinion leaders something he intend to ride on as he marches to August 9th D-Day
