TROUBLE LOOMING AT FKF AS TWO CLUBS THREATEN TO SUE FIFA IF MWENDWA DOESNT VACATE OFFICE

Two soccer clubs have threatened to institute legal proceedings against world soccer governing body Fifa should it extend the mandate of the current FKF office led by Nick Mwendwa.

In a letter to Ms Fatma Samba Diouf Samoura the General secretary of Fifa, Bondeni Fc and Cheptiret United Football club want Fifa to respect the ruling by the Sports Dispute Tribunal on 10th January 2020.

In the ruling, the Hon judge Mr John Ohaga made several findings in favor of fkf which the current office holders agree with. However the two clubs have taken notice of some information circulating in local dailies to the effect that Fifa has extended fkf’s mandate.

The two clubs further took issue with FKF’s selective reading of the findings by SDT. It should be noted that Judge Ohaga in his findings. Ordered that a nomarlisation committee be put in place untill credible elections are held in a free and fair environment.

In the letter, the two clubs observe that SDT’s decision is final and binding and even Fifa is subject to it according to Article 4 of Fifa statutes.

The two clubs therefore demand that Fifa respects SDT’s ruling and co operates with competent authorities in Kenya to ensure there is no vacuum in the adminstration and management of football in Kenya.

Should FIFA irregularly extend Mwendwa’s tenure which has been terminated by SDT, the two clubs will have no option but to move at an appropriate time and institute legal proceedings at an appropriate forum to ensure total compliance of the findings by S.DT
