“Malala Has Turned Politics Into Drama Class!” – Hon. Aladwa Claps Back at Allegations of Plotting Chaos

–
NAIROBI, Kenya —
Makadara MP Hon. George Aladwa has come out guns blazing, tearing into former UDA Secretary-General Cleophas Malala for what he termed as “bizarre and theatrical” claims that he and Dagoretti North MP Beatrice Elachi are planning to disrupt the return of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua from his trip to the United States.
Speaking at a press briefing on Tuesday, a visibly amused yet firm Aladwa said he was astonished by Malala’s claims, dismissing them as “scripted fiction from a man addicted to political theatrics.”
“I’m shocked that the former UDA SG can craft such an unfounded script just to feed his love for drama. Malala is a known dramatist — he thrives on baseless narratives. If these wild claims keep him sane, we wish him well. But if he indeed has evidence, why not take it to the police?” Aladwa challenged.
Aladwa didn’t stop there. He questioned the timing and motive behind Malala’s remarks, especially at a time when Kenya is hosting a major continental football event.

“Kenya is welcoming dignitaries and soccer fans from across Africa. We’re the center of continental attention, with Nairobi at the heart of this celebration. It’s unfortunate that someone would want to drag the nation into political mud while we should be showcasing unity and peace,” he added.
“What’s So Special About Gachagua’s Return?”
On the matter of Gachagua’s return from the U.S., Aladwa was blunt.
“The former DP is a citizen like any other. He traveled, and now he’s returning. So what? The former Prime Minister was recently in West Africa and came back quietly. President Ruto is in Japan — no one made noise when he left or when he’ll return. Why is Malala acting like Gachagua is descending from heaven?” he quipped.
Aladwa also used the opportunity to rally Kenyans to maintain decorum as the country prepares to face Madagascar in the upcoming CHAN qualifier.

“Let’s focus on supporting our boys this Friday, not fueling unnecessary drama. Any conduct that tarnishes our image could endanger our chances of successfully hosting AFCON 2027,” Aladwa warned.
Elachi Responds: “I Have Better Things To Do”
Reached for comment, Dagoretti North MP Hon. Beatrice Elachi echoed Aladwa’s sentiments, calling Malala’s claims “laughable and misguided.”
“Honestly, I had no idea Gachagua was even returning. Malala should spare us the theatrics. I’m focused on serving my constituents. If he’s so fixated on drama, maybe he should consider going back to the theatre,” Elachi fired back.
Context: Gachagua’s U.S. Visit and Claims Against Ruto
Gachagua has been in the U.S., where he made headlines for openly criticizing President William Ruto and Kenya’s foreign policy, particularly regarding conflicts in DRC and Sudan. His remarks have sparked heated political debate, and his return is being closely watched.
But if Aladwa and Elachi’s sharp rebukes are anything to go by, not everyone is buying into the hype surrounding Gachagua’s homecoming — and they’re certainly not amused by Malala’s “scripted panic.”
