ODM Nairobi County Chairman George Aladwa has publicly endorsed the decision by the ODM Party Central Committee to reaffirm its support for a broad-based government, calling it a bold and unifying step forward for the country.

The announcement comes amid growing calls for political inclusivity and collaborative governance as the country navigates complex economic and social challenges.

“We Must Set Aside Divisions” — Aladwa

In a statement shared via the ODM Nairobi X (formerly Twitter) account, Aladwa said:

“As the ODM Nairobi County Chairman, I fully support today’s decision by the Party’s Central Committee to reaffirm its commitment to the broad-based government. This move underscores our unwavering dedication to unity, inclusivity, and shared progress in governance. For our country to truly prosper, we must set aside divisions and work together — building a united front for the benefit of all Kenyans.”

Aladwa, a Member of Parliament for Makadara and seasoned grassroots mobilizer, said the decision reflects the party’s deep-rooted belief in a people-centered, inclusive political system.

ODM Position Gains Momentum

The ODM Central Committee’s position signals the party’s continued willingness to participate in a governance structure that embraces dialogue, shared responsibility, and national cohesion. According to Aladwa, this is not the time for political isolation but a moment to build bridges and expand the space for citizen-centered leadership.

“Kenya needs all its leaders pulling in the same direction,” he said in a follow-up comment. “Our citizens want results, not endless wrangles. The broad-based government approach gives us a chance to refocus on service delivery and collective nation-building.”

A Call to Leaders Across the Aisle

Aladwa urged fellow political leaders, regardless of affiliation, to rise above partisanship and support efforts that promote national unity.

“We must not waste this opportunity. ODM stands ready to lead in creating a more united and representative Kenya,” he said.

His remarks have sparked positive traction online, especially among ODM supporters and political observers who see the broad-based approach as a sign of political maturity in a highly polarized landscape.
