In the heart of Nairobi’s Kabiro Ward, a quiet transformation is underway—driven by a man whose devotion to community service is reshaping the lives of many. Moses Kavallah, a grassroots leader and social advocate, has emerged as a beacon of hope, particularly for the youth, through his hands-on approach to change.
“Sports can heal, unite, and empower. Reformed FC gives young people something to believe in—and belief is often the first step toward change,” Kavallah says.
Kavallah’s leadership is built on action, not promises. One of his flagship projects, Reformed FC, harnesses the power of football to combat drug abuse and crime. The club recruits at-risk youth from informal settlements, offering them mentorship, structure, and a positive alternative through sport. Many former addicts now credit Reformed FC with turning their lives around.
But his impact goes beyond the football pitch. Kavallah is also working to bridge the often strained relationship between communities and law enforcement. Through his NGO, the Community Relations Foundation (CRF), he has pioneered initiatives that foster dialogue, build trust, and promote collaboration. CRF’s flagship event—the Ghetto Marathon—brings together youth, police officers, and residents in a shared celebration of athleticism and civic unity, transforming tension into teamwork.
Over the years, Kavallah has led free medical camps, organized food drives, and coordinated community sports tournaments—meeting both immediate needs and laying the groundwork for long-term change. His model is holistic: address the present while empowering the future.
“If we want to fix the future, we must start by empowering the present—especially our young people,” he adds.
With a growing base of grassroots support, many in Kabiro believe Kavallah is ready to bring his transformative leadership into public office. As a candidate for the Kabiro Ward seat, his proven commitment to service, accountability, and community-driven development has made him a standout contender.
At a time when many Kenyans are calling for more accountable, people-centered leadership, Moses Kavallah isn’t just campaigning—he’s already doing the work. And for the residents of Kabiro, that may be the clearest sign of the leader they need.
