Is Macleans Sloya Iganza the best candidate for Sabatia Mp 2022?

 by Rose Iminza Mudete/Vihiga.

The 2022 elections are approaching and time is running very fast. August 9th, 2022 provides a chance for Kenyans to decide their political destiny for five years. Those in the office are racing against time to prove why they should be re-elected while those angling to replace them have taken it easy focusing on solidifying their presence on the ground to increase their electability.

Sabatia constituency in Vihiga presents a unique scenario. Sabatia boasts of greats like the late Mudamba Mudavadi, Musalia Mudavadi, and Moses Akaranga who once represented the great people of Sabatia. All the MPs had their names starting with the letter M and even the current MP is called Masadia Agoi. Macleans  Sloya is a Mudavadi die-hard and is also in the race to not only capture the seat but to help transform Sabatia.

Who is fit to replace Hon Agoi as he goes for the gubernatorial seat?

This is a question on the minds of many residents in the quiet Sabatia sub-county. Many people have been traversing the ground but one young man stands out due to his unique way of approaching people.

Captain Macleans  Iganza Sloya.

Macleans has been traversing the constituency listening to people’s needs and doing everything within his reach to help. Whenever he visits a village, he never leaves without impacting them positively.

His housing project for the vulnerable in the community has won him many admirers. This initiative has brought joy and honor to the otherwise neglected and forgotten members of the community most of whom are widows.

Economic empowerment

Captain Macleans as he is fondly known by locals due to his past military background has not only given the people food to sort their immediate hunger but has also gone a step further to help those willing to work find something gainful to do.

Poultry farm initiative.

Macleans has invested with young ladies across the constituency who are ready and willing to start poultry farming. Using his own personal resources, Macleans has helped several women groups to put up poultry farms and has encouraged them never to give up since we have a ready market in Kakamega, Kisumu and in all our learning institutions.

“we must go back to our roots, we need to utilize our farms by practicing commercial agriculture. We don’t need to be buying vegetables and tomatoes from outside our constituency, we should at least produce them locally so that if one person is farming in onions, the other one is doing tomatoes and the other is doing sukuma wiki. By this, we shall improve our economic status. Poultry farming doesn’t require much space and therefore let us venture into    it instead of just waiting in vain for help from heaven. God has already blessed us let us open our eyes and see” said Macleans during one of his meetings with the people.

People first.

Captain Macleans is a humble servant who put the interest of his people above self. During his birthday celebrations, Captain Sloya remembered the old who were in the villages across Sabatia.

Youth empowerment.

The youth constitute a bigger percentage of our population here in Sabatia. Many youth seek employment in urban centers but a good number still remain behind to find what they can do. It is against this background that Captain Sloya has identified several youths groups by helping them pursue what they can do.

Over the weekend, he donated over 60 handcarts to youths groups that had requested for the same. This noble initiative will go a long way to position them well in their quest to gainfully earn a living.

‘ The best way to sort security issues and deviant behaviors among our people is to help them gainfully get something to do. We can all help in our small way and the ripple effect will be greater. We can only end poverty and insecurity by engaging our youths”  Sloya said.

On his relatively young age, Macleans was quick to answer those who were chanting him down on account of his age. This is what he said.

“I may be youthful but I have a vision and a burden to help my people  improve their lives. Those saying that I am young are also forgetting our leader Hon Mudavadi went to parliament at 29 years and went ahead to be the best ever finance minister only at 33 years. Hon Mudavadi started SACODEF( Sabatia Constituency Development fund) long before others started Cdf. I believe by the grace of God I have what it takes to serve my people and make Sabatia greater.”

No dignity in poverty.

Having been born and brought up in Sabatia, Macleans has come face to face with the hard life that our people are subjected to daily. From children going to school on an empty stomach to some walking around in tattered clothes.

‘’It pains my heart to see in this day and age our people are still infested by jiggers. Through our foundation as MACLEAN SLOYA FOUNDATION we have managed to help treat over 500  household across Sabatia who are languishing in abject poverty. For sure this is not a dignified Sabatia that we all aspire to see. This makes my heart bleed and Iam not waiting to be elected to do it but I have set forth an initiative that will help rid Sabatia of jiggers menace before 2022. I beseech fellow Sabatians to join me in this noble venture as we set our people free’’ added Macleans.

Fellow Sabatians, when the times for choosing our next leader, let us interrogate what they have done before just rushing to sing praises for them.  Macleans Sloya Iganza is the right man for the hot Sabatia seat. Lets make Sabatia great again!
