Donald Kipkorir tweeted “The Del Monte land issue in Thika is very disturbing under our Constitution, all land ownership shall be leaseholds .It means all ownerships aren’t permanent, but it doesn’t mean we lose our properties on expiry of leases .Title Deeds are renewed automatically.

To refuse to renew Del Monte title deeds will send wrong message to every investor, local & foreign .Multi Billion investments demand certainty of proprietorship .All developed counties respect this, the biggest agricultural exporting countries like Brazil respect this.

GoK must not allow village greed of Murang’a , Kiambu, Kericho & Nandi Counties to sabotage our national economy. Land seizures went out with fall of Communism. Large Plantations lose their value when sub-divided. Pineapple Production will end when Del Monte is sub-divided”.
