This youth-led initiative is committed to nurturing the next generation of civic and political leaders across the country, and its impact is already being felt nationwide.Founded on the principles of inclusion,empowerment, and transformation, YAK boasts a growing membership of over 500 young leaders.

These members are actively involved in leadership development, civic education, mentorship, and more—forming a vibrant network of change-makers who are determined to shape a better future.At the helm of YAK is a dynamic leadership team:Austine Gerald, ChairmanMoses K.Rono, Secretary GeneralAdrian Wasianga, Chief Executive DirectorThese visionary leaders are guiding the organization with a clear mission: to empower young people to take up spaces in political, civic, and even corporate leadership.

According to Burton Avwage,(pictured above) Head of Programmes at YAK, the organization runs several strategic programs aimed at building capacity and fostering engagement among the youth. These include:X Space – A digital platform that facilitates open dialogue on key issues affecting youth and society at large.Capacity Building – A range of training and development programs designed to equip young leaders with the skills they need to lead effectively.Youth Networking Dinner – A newly launched initiative that seeks to bring together youth leaders from political parties, youth-led organizations, and elected young officials. The event is aimed at fostering collaboration, sharing experiences, and strengthening the youth leadership movement in Kenya.But YAK’s focus doesn’t stop at governance and politics.
