Waithaka wins Makadara UDA ticket

Nairobi, Friday 15th April, 2022:

It was joy and celebration as businessman Anthony Waithaka whitewashed his competitors to clinch the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Makadara parliamentary ticket at the UDA party nominations that were held yesterday.
Waithaka won the nominations in a 61 percent landslide with the second trailing him a distant 21 percent.


Waithaka, popularly known as ‘Anto’ Makadara 1 polled 3907 votes out of the total 6419 votes cast.
His closest challenger Julius Kaunda came in second with 1326 votes with Mathew Mburu coming in third with 902 votes. Daniel Kiplagat Terer managed a paltry 16 votes in an exercise that saw 158 votes spoilt.
Waithaka won in all but one polling center where he trailed Kaunda with just 10 votes.
Speaking, Waithaka thanked the people of Makadara for the resounding victory and expressing their confidence in my leadership as the UDA party flag bearer,” Waithaka said.
“This is the first step in our journey to make sure that that together we transform Makadara constituency,” he added.
Waithaka has rolled up his sleeves to unseat the current legislator George Aladwa at the August 9th 2022 general elections and work to deliver of the electorate.
