On Sunday,Dagoretti North was brought to a standstill by none other than the chief hustler himself Dr William Samoei Ruto.
At exactly 10:30 Am, his entourage snaked through Kawangware’s hope center to St Francis of Assis church where the DP worshipped.

Chants of Ruto!Ruto!Ruto! Rent the air as thousands of residents waived at the Hustler to and from the church.
the warm welcome accorded to the DP in Dagoretti North is a clear manifestation of the amount of work we have put in place in ensuring the hustler narrative reaches all corners of Dagoretti North”Sam Sambu UDA aspirant for Dagoretti North
Hon Sam Wanyama Sambu who is eyeing the Dagoretti North seat on UDA is upbeat that the ground is surely tilting towards UDA.
Mr Sambu who is not a new comer in Dagoretti North politics is contesting for the second time in a bid to unseat Simba Arati of ODM
Sambu contested for the first time in 2013 but in 2017, he sat out as he concentrated on ensuring Jubilee wins the 2017 presidential elections.

“I have been traversing Dagoretti North selling the hustler narrative that esposes the bottom up approach economic model. Prior to the DP’s visit, I took my time to rally our supporters to come and accord our presidential candidate a befitting welcome and Iam glad the visit was grand which is a clear pointer that UDA has wrestled ground from ODM” added Sambu.
My 2022 bid is still alive and active…
Mr Sambu has also moved to address the speculation that he may have dropped out of the race owing to his loud absence during the DP’s visit.

“Iam in the race for 2022,Iam hopeful that I will clinch the UDA ticket to fly the party’s flag and deliver. However I must respect my fellow contestants who are also angling for the same ticket, we work closely and we shall continue working together as a team for the good of the party and our great people of Dagoretti North.”
Speculation were rife that Sambu had dropped out of the race but through a facebook post on his page, he cleared the air by explaining that he had an urgent family engagement that needed his personal attention.
“On Sunday I dispatched my team on the ground to help in cordinating the DP’s visit and Iam glad they did a good job. I had an urgent family matter that needed my attention. This was communicated to our party boss and my fellow UDA leaders in Dagoretti North in advance. Whoever is spreading malice and propaganda will be in for a rude shock. My team and I have our eyes fixed on the prize and we therefore shall not be distracted by naysayers”
The same sentiments have been replicated all over social media with those in his team firing warning shots.
“Write off Sam Sambu at your own peril.Sambu is a grassroots guy born and raised here, he doesnt need any introduction on the ground and this time round we are rallying behind him” Eng Stano wrote.
“Mambo bado, Sambu is here to win the race na hatubahatishi” wrote Omeno Vincent.
On his part, Albert Wendo an ardent Sambu supporter laughed at those writing Sambu off on account of his no show on Sunday.
“Those celebrating are living in a fool’s paradise. On Sunday we were welcoming the DP to Dagoretti North. Team Sambu was on the ground and we remain on the ground selling the UDA narrative and our parliamentary aspirant Hon Sambu. We have immense hope in his ability not only to clinch the UDA ticket but also to transform lives here in Dagoretti North. Those writing him off will be in for a rude shock.

Mr Sam Sambu is among the most visible UDA leaders in Dagoretti North. He has initiated several table banking groups where lives are changing. His love for sports has seen him also sponsor several soccer tournaments in the area.
