Deputy William Ruto faces his demons at Bomas, raises valid questions about #BBI
DP William Ruto today faced his nemesis at the Bomas of Kenya during the launch of the BBI Report.
The Deputy leader was cheerful and even laughed off a newspaper headline that said he would come face to face with the BBI Demons at Bomas.
Although the DP was heckled by ODM goons lead by MP Millie Odhiambo, he was unperturbed and tore into the BBI document and making a mockery off Adams Oloo a constitutional lawyer.
Below are some of the questions he raised
How come in the 21st century, people are still dependent on wheelbarrows and mikokotenis?
How can two teams appoint the referee and expect fairness in the game?.
Why take Women to a relegated Senate without powers to control resources away from the powerful National Assembly and call that women empowerment?
Where is inclusivity when members of the same Party or coalition become the president, prime ministers and deputies?
Why allocate 35% to counties and weaken the Senate that is supposed to ensure good use and supervision of the money?
The people of Kenya are in need of access to Justice but how will that happen when more than 165 sub counties don’t have high courts, what happens when the president appoints the ombudsman to intimidate and supervise the judiciary which is expected to be an independent arm of the government?
How do you expect the police Service to be independent when you appoint cabinet Minister to head the Council?
On appointment of IEBC commissioners. My brother Raila Odinga is good at football. So, let me ask: How fair a league will it be where the referee is appointed by some teams. Unless you persuade me that we will end up with a fair game. I have my reservations.
I’ve confessed I’m a scientist but I’m a bit slow. Explain to me how having a President who will appoint the Prime Minister from the winning coalition & runners up being opposition leader will sort out the ‘winner-take-it-all’ question. Forgive me if I’m slow #BBILaunch
Ile ujasiri, hekima na mafunzo imekua Bomas leo ni ya aina yake, spanner has been thrown into the works of the BBI, everybody including uhuru Kenyatta was thrown off balance.
