Shame as Azimio rally in Makadara end prematurely as area Mp Aladwa watches in dismay.

It was confusion galore at the Azimio La Umoja rally at Makongeni in Makadara constituency which ended prematurely.

Makadara Member of Parliament George Aladwa was reportedly at the center of the happenings that unfolded at his home ground prompting a walk out by Jubilee Party members as the rally degenerated to an unruly ODM affair.

Trouble started when Aladwa took the microphone and began to selectively chose speakers at the rally overlooking the earlier agreed order of events.

“Ideally, after the prayers, area MCA Peter Imwatok would take the podium then invite the area MP Aladwa who would then call the day’s master of ceremony but all this was overlooked, ” our informer told this reporter.

Aladwa grabbed the microphone and began to call speakers as anarchy continued to reign. Jubilee Party members left in a huff after it tuned out that Aladwa, the ODM Nairobi branch chairman had his own list of speakers who he called even as his goons continued to have a field day heckling leaders and stealing from those who had attended the rally.  A man is recovering after he was reportedly stabbed with a knife.

As Imwatok was coming to the rally, he was joined by rival Nichodemus Ochieng alias Bokande and the two made a round atop of his vehicle in the grounds contrary to the thoughts of Aladwa.

It was then that the legislator took things in his hand and chose to arm twist the entire meeting turning it to an unruly ODM affair.

It took the intervention of ODM secretary general Edwin Sifuna for other leaders to speak.

Sifuna introduced leaders at the top then returned to Imwatok. Aladwa grabbed the microphone again from Jubilee Makadara MP aspirant Mark Ndung’u alias Mark Tosha and insisted that speakers were only allowed to say their name and not campaign. Just as another mp aspirant Fred Aketch was being introduced, Aladwa again grabbed the microphone.

Kanini Kega, the Member of Parliament for Kieni never spoke. He looked at the anarchy and went straight into his vehicle and took off.

Jubilee members felt it was not an Azimio La Umoja rally but an ODM affair.

As the ugly scenes unfolded, Jubilee Party members felt in unfamiliar territory and were all on a haste to leave.

Jubilee Nairobi Gubernatorial aspirant Richard Ngatia who has been having a charm offensive, bouyed by overwhelming support across the political divide too spoke and left immediately after .

On Friday evening, a report was made to Makadara police station alleging that Imwatok and Boka had planned to cause trouble at the rally. However, the security agents watched as Aladwa caused problems at the rally.

Aladwa has been accused of using his opportunities as MC to give a chance to speakers who are allegedly the highest bidders “Microphone for sale”

“Aladwa when he does the MC job does the Microphone for Hire business where one has to bribe him to be allowed a chance to speak,” Our informer said.

The rally was on the fourth day of a weeklong Azimio La Umoja Nairobi rallies even as the Azimio presidential candidate Raila Odinga continues with his tour of the UK.
