
Yesterday , 22nd April 2025. The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF), Kenya Table Tennis Association (KTTA) and Vision Changers Kenya called on the leadership of Nairobi City County Sports department to discuss among other issues the ways of promoting and increasing Table Tennis visibility within the county through shared efforts.
ITTF President Ms Petra Sorling elaborated on the need to have Kenya competing at the global stage since the game is not expensive and can accommodate everyone.
Sorling further stated that support by relevant stakeholders would easily come if there is representation of Kenya at the world stage.


Chief Officer, Youth Talent & Sports, Mr. Oscar Igaida shared the milestones achieved by department since the year 2022 through the support of H.E. Governor Sakaja. He emphasized on the need for KTTA to work closely with county government to promote Table Tennis.
ITTF Vice President also present at the meeting mentioned that the game is anchored on three pillars; Universal, Popular and Inclusive.
He went on and stated that through their partnership with Vision Changers Kenya they are able to change lives using Table Tennis as a tool especially in their project areas i.e Mukuru kwa Reuben and Kariobangi wards.
Also present at the meeting were; Deputy Director Sports, Mr. Hari Mwahari, Assistant Director, Jack Wanyanga, Principal Sports Officers; Willis Okombo and Elvira Lwanga, Sport Officer, Vane Mboga among others.
The meeting adjourned with the preparation for World Table Tennis Day Celebration in top gear. This year’s celebration will be held in Nairobi on 23rd April 2025 at Charter Hall along City Way.
