{"id":8368,"date":"2020-12-09T19:32:27","date_gmt":"2020-12-09T19:32:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/goodmorningkenya.com\/wp\/?p=8368"},"modified":"2020-12-09T19:41:15","modified_gmt":"2020-12-09T19:41:15","slug":"defiant-mathare-united-fc-and-zoo-kericho-suspended-from-betking-fkf-premier-league","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/goodmorningkenya.com\/wp\/?p=8368","title":{"rendered":"Defiant Mathare united fc and Zoo Kericho suspended from Betking Fkf premier league."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><br>Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has suspended Mathare United and Zoo FC from its top tier league.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The decision was made at the end of Wednesday\u2019s National Executive Committee<br>(NEC) meeting at Safari Park Hotel. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Sig<strong>n the star times deal or leave<\/strong>!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to FKF president Nick Mwendwa the two clubs have been given 48 hours to sign the StarTimes endorsement deal in order for them to be included in the next FKF-Premier League fixtures failure to do so will lead to their expulsion from the top tier even as league enters its third week this weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"480\" height=\"320\" src=\"https:\/\/goodmorningkenya.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/FB_IMG_1607541268192.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8371\" srcset=\"https:\/\/goodmorningkenya.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/FB_IMG_1607541268192.jpg 480w, https:\/\/goodmorningkenya.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/FB_IMG_1607541268192-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><figcaption><strong><em>Bob Munro Mathare boss<\/em><\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe have been very patient with the two clubs and done our best to convince them to meet their obligations in order to preserve the commercial rights of the league.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhile the other clubs have given us their endorsements, the two have declined to do so as the league enters match day three. The league cannot continue without the two clubs meeting their obligations\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The two clubs have until Friday 11 December, 5pm to sign the endorsement, failure to<br>which the matter will be referred to the federation\u2019s General Congress, in February<br>2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong> Ulinzi stars given another chance untill Dec 14th.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Another club Ulinzi Stars were given until Monday, 14 December, to also send their<br>endorsement, failure to which they will be suspended from the top league.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe NEC considered the case of Ulinzi and noted that being a military team, they require certain processes to be followed. In that regard, we have given them until Monday at 5p.m to sign the endorsement. Failure to do that will result in them being suspended from the top league,\u201d added Mr Mwendwa.<br><br>He assured players from the three teams that they will be accorded a provisional<br>window of 15 days to sign for other clubs, should their clubs fail to meet their respective deadlines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Gor Chairman to face discplinary comittee<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the same time, the FKF president said disciplinary proceedings will be opened<br>against Gor Mahia chairman Ambrose Rachier for bringing the game into disrepute.<br>Rachier wrote a letter to StarTimes withdrawing a letter the club\u2019s Secretary General<br>had written to FKF endorsing the broadcast deal<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has suspended Mathare United and Zoo FC from its top tier league.
