Nairobi governo<\/strong><\/em>r Mike Sonko faces fresh impeachment motion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The embattled Nairobi county boss Mike Mbuvi  Sonko is not yet out of the woods yet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This comes after a section of Nairobi county Mcas hatched a fresh bid to send the governor home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Governor Sonko is accused by the county assembly for refusing to append his signature on the county budget proposals. Mr Sonko has been at loggerheads with may representatives after refusing to append his signature on the county\u2019s Sh37.5 billion annual budget that allocated Sh27.1 billion to Nairobi Metropolitan Services, leaving City Hall with Sh8.4 billion<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the Roysambu  Ward Representative Peter Warutere an ally of Governor Sonko has indicated that a  Tuesday meeting at Capitol Hill involving the leadership of the county assembly was called to strategize on reviving the ouster motion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, Mr. Warutere was oozing with confidence that any attempt to send the governor home will be defeated on the floor of the assembly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cJubilee MCAs will not fall into the trap of impeaching its duly elected governor, should anything that is touching on the ouster of the governor is arrived at, we shall only take directions from the party leadership, in this case, the president\u2019\u2019 Warutere said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Commenting on the impeachment saga, ODM chief whip Mr. Ogada scoffed off at the report only saying that the capitol hill meeting was only meant to solidify the county assembly\u2019s base in rallying behind the BBI signature collection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018\u2019Yes we met as the house leadership but our meeting had nothing to do with governor Sonko. We all know the huddle beforehand is how to navigate the BBI report to its fruitful conclusion and we have as an assembly agreed that we rally the assembly troops in supporting the process\u2019<\/p>Mr. Ogada said.<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Governor Sonko has been sidelined a great deal ever since the NMS took over. This has forced him to take to his social media spewing hate and hurling insults left right and center. It goes without saying that the governor could be stepping on the feed of some serious government operatives and his impending impeachment cannot be wished away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
