{"id":6329,"date":"2020-08-06T13:56:21","date_gmt":"2020-08-06T13:56:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/goodmorningkenya.com\/wp\/?p=6329"},"modified":"2020-08-06T14:03:55","modified_gmt":"2020-08-06T14:03:55","slug":"pauline-akuku-assumes-role-of-nairobi-county-a-acting-clerk-as-speaker-elachi-assures-nairobians-that-all-will-be-well","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/goodmorningkenya.com\/wp\/?p=6329","title":{"rendered":"Pauline Akuku assumes office as Nairobi county assembly acting clerk as Speaker Elachi assures Nairobians that all shall be well."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Pauline Akuku has officially assumed office as the new acting Nairobi&nbsp; County Assembly clerlk following&nbsp; a court order that directed Jacob Ngwele to step aside until the petition revolving the appointment of a new Clerk is heard and determined.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a communication&nbsp; dispatched to Newsrooms on Wednesday, the Assembly leadership through Hon Elachi clarified that Pauline Akuku will take over following interdiction of&nbsp; Adah Onyango as deputy clerk on 19th June this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The letter says Adah Onyango is no longer deputy Clerk at the assembly of Nairobi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2018\u2018In the meantime ,in accordance with section 4.2 of the public service commission Discipline Manual for&nbsp; Public&nbsp; Service [May 2016], You are hereby interdicted from exercising the duties of your office and any other assembly related work ..while on interdiction you will be paid half salary.\u2019\u2019 The Communique reads in part.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There have been confusion on whom takes over from Ngwele after Wednesday\u2019s&nbsp; orders but according to Speaker Beatrice Elachi\u2019s Office&nbsp; Pauline Akuku was appointed as deputy clerk and she therefore assumes office of the Clerk as directed by court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In court documents seen by Goodmorning Kenya News, Adah Onyango was listed as deputy clerk a move that has caused confusion to the general public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There have been&nbsp; leadership wrangles at the assembly&nbsp; that saw eruption of chaos with Mlango Kubwa MCA Hon Patricia Mutheu being clobbered at the precints of the assembly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The County speaker Hon Elachi has adjourned the house untill next month.
