{"id":3087,"date":"2020-04-22T18:17:45","date_gmt":"2020-04-22T18:17:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/goodmorningkenya.com\/wp\/?p=3087"},"modified":"2020-04-22T18:17:48","modified_gmt":"2020-04-22T18:17:48","slug":"us5000-reward-for-arrest-of-culprits-who-fed-dogs-to-crocodiles","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/goodmorningkenya.com\/wp\/?p=3087","title":{"rendered":"US$5,000 reward for arrest of culprits who fed dogs to crocodiles!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>Donald Tapia, who is the United States Ambassador to Jamaica is offering a US$5,000 ($630,000.00 JMD) reward for anyone with information which could lead to the arrest and conviction of the men who fed a dog to a crocodile in St Catherine.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>He said,  the reward was being offered in conjunction with the Jamaica Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This comes after public outrage last week as a video of the incident circulated on social media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jamaica&#8217;s National Environment and Planning Agency condemned the actions by the people who carried out this act at the Greater Portmore Sewage plant in St Catherine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NEPA said, feeding crocodiles with dogs could be dangerous as these reptiles will start to associate humans with being fed and could condition the crocodiles hunt larger prey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The agency has urged the public to desist from entering the area, noting that anyone found guilty of baiting the crocodiles will be charged under the Wildlife Protection Act.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Donald Tapia, who is the United States Ambassador to Jamaica is offering a US$5,000 ($630,000.00 JMD) reward for anyone with information which could lead to the arrest and conviction of the men who fed a dog to a crocodile in St Catherine.
