{"id":3055,"date":"2020-04-21T12:03:07","date_gmt":"2020-04-21T12:03:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/goodmorningkenya.com\/wp\/?p=3055"},"modified":"2020-04-21T12:03:09","modified_gmt":"2020-04-21T12:03:09","slug":"kenya-mudslide-death-toll-rises-to-12","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/goodmorningkenya.com\/wp\/?p=3055","title":{"rendered":"Kenya mudslide death toll rises to 12"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The death toll from a mudslide in Pokot\/Marakwet has risen to 12, after eight more bodies were recovered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The mudslide occurred at the border of West Pokot and Elgeyo Marakwet counties on Saturday night after a heavy downpour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A search and recovery operation is underway for more than 20 people who have been reported missing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mud and downpours in the area have hampered the operation as roads and bridges were swept away by the floods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The government has urged people to move to higher ground to avert another disaster.
