According to the petition, the Special General Assembly will discuss the resolutions made by 9 NEC Members on April 24, 2026, the implications of those resolutions on the activities of FKF, and the conduct of the NEC Members involved.

The meeting will also discuss the way forward and possible resolutions which include a possible removal of some of the nine NEC members, a move that has been legitimized by the World Governing Body FIFA.

In a strongly worded letter, FIFA said the process used did not follow the FKF Constitution and therefore cannot be recognised.

The world football governing body stated that any decision to suspend or remove an FKF official must follow the correct legal procedure, including proper voting, quorum and giving the affected officials a chance to be heard.

FIFA also warned that members who acted outside the constitution could face disciplinary action.

The letter further urged FKF leaders to avoid creating instability within Kenyan football and to strictly follow the federation’s constitution moving forward. FIFA said that it does not recognise the April 24 “9-NEC” decision stating that it was hastily made and did not fully adhere to the FKF Constitution.

“We refer to the recent correspondence and submissions exchanged in relation to the situation within the Football Kenya Federation (FKF), including the purported actions taken by certain members of the National Executive Committee concerning the provisional stepping aside of FKF officials.
At the outset, we must emphasise that the specific requests made in FIFA’s previous correspondence, aimed at clarifying whether the measures in question were adopted in compliance with the FKF Constitution, have not been duly complied with. In particular, the information and documentation provided do not demonstrate that the applicable procedural requirements were respected. FIFA therefore categorically rejects the procedure that has been followed in this matter.
Having carefully considered the information, documentation and explanations submitted, we deem it necessary to recall the relevant provisions of the FKF Constitution governing such situations. In this respect, Article 41 of the 2017 edition of the FKF Constitution clearly regulates the process for the provisional dismissal or provisional suspension of a person of a body of FKF. In particular, Article 41 provides, inter alia, that any such measure must be duly proposed and justified, placed on the agenda and communicated to the members of the National Executive Committee, adopted in accordance with the applicable quorum and voting requirements, and preceded by affording the person concerned the right to be heard.

Any measure requiring an official to “step aside”, when imposed as a mandatory act rather than undertaken voluntarily, can only be understood as a form of provisional suspension within the meaning of Article 41 of the FKF Constitution. As such, it must strictly comply with the substantive and procedural safeguards expressly stipulated therein. These requirements are neither discretionary nor optional; they constitute fundamental guarantees of due process, legality and institutional integrity and cannot be set aside by reference to alternative practices or extraordinary considerations.” FIFA stated.
The FKF Branch governors are said to be seeking an open forum where Congress — the supreme decision-making body of FKF — can discuss the ongoing disputes within the federation and determine the way forward. The petitioners have also reportedly reached out to clubs in the FKF Premier League, National Super League, and FKF Women Premier League in a bid to rally wider support for the proposed SGM.

The call by a majority of the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) branch chairmen to convene a Special General Meeting and discuss the conduct of the National Executive Committee (NEC) members who purported to oust President Hussein Mohammed have been boosted with FIFA officially rejecting the move to compel FKF President Hussein Mohamed, CEO Dennis Gicheru …

[1

post-19404","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news
["GET
