A shocking incident unfolded in Kisumu earlier today when Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi was assaulted by a group of armed individuals in what his office has described as a premeditated and politically motivated attack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


According to a statement from the Office of the Director of Communication, Vihiga Senate, the Senator had made a routine visit to the Acacia area for personal grooming before proceeding to Java Restaurant, where he met a friend and interacted freely with members of the public for about thirty minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


It was during this seemingly normal engagement that a group of gun-wielding individuals confronted him. Witnesses indicate that the assailants aggressively questioned the Senator over his political stance, specifically demanding to know why he supports a one-term position instead of a two-term approach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The confrontation quickly escalated into physical manhandling.
Despite the presence of his security detail, restraint was exercised to avoid discharging firearms in a public setting a move that potentially prevented serious harm to innocent civilians who were present at the time.
The Senator\u2019s office has strongly condemned the attack, terming it barbaric, cowardly, and orchestrated. It emphasized that such acts of intimidation will not deter Senator Osotsi from standing by his convictions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
