Mabatini Member of the County Assembly Wilfred Oluoch Odalo has been ranked as the best performing MCA in Nairobi, following the latest comprehensive opinion research study, conducted by Intouch Media Plus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a landmark recognition of transformative leadership, Odalo, the chairman of the Nairobi City County Assembly Budget and Appropriations Committee, Odalo ranked top among the MCA’s perfomance underscoring his practical approach to development and his commitment to youth empowerment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This top ranking highlights a significant shift in Nairobi\u2019s political landscape, where results-oriented governance is increasingly becoming the benchmark for success.
The “Youth Employment” Architect<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Odalo ranked top with an approval rating of 72% with
Victor Omondi of Lucky Summer coming second with a 64% rating while Antony Kimemia of Harambee ward comes third with a rating of 63%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The survey was conducted across Nairobi with the respondents ranging from the residents of Mathare constituency, which includes his Mabatini ward, fellow MCA’s, Nairobi county government officers among them CEC’s and Chief Officers as well as various stakeholders and county contractors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The primary driver behind Odalo\u2019s top-tier ranking is his aggressive strategy to combat unemployment within Mabatini Ward. Recognizing that the youth are the backbone of the economy, Odalo has moved beyond traditional politics to create tangible employment opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through strategic partnerships and ward-based initiatives, he has facilitated the placement of several youths into various sectors, including efforts to leverage his influence at City Hall to ensure Mabatini youth are represented in apprenticeship programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Odalo has prioritized ward-based labor for construction and sanitation projects as well as setting up support systems for small-scale youth traders to scale their businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Our goal wasn’t just to talk about the youth, but to put them to work,” Odalo stated during a recent community forum. “When a young person is employed, an entire family is stabilized.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Odalo\u2019s influence is not limited to his ward; he is a formidable force within the Nairobi City County Assembly. As the chairman of the Select Committee on County Finance, Budget, and Appropriations, Odalo plays a critical role in oversight and the equitable distribution of Nairobi\u2019s multi-billion shilling budget.
His colleagues describe him as a “budget master” who ensures that funds are directed toward projects that have a direct impact on the mwananchi.
