When Gatina Ward MCA Hon. Mwalimu Kennedy Swaka<\/strong> launched his campaign, he made one promise clear \u2014 to open up Gatina through improved road networks. Today, that promise is turning into reality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

True to his word, Hon. Swaka has already overseen the rehabilitation of several key link roads across the ward, and his latest project \u2014 the Kibue Road<\/strong> rehabilitation \u2014 is set to transform mobility between Kongo<\/strong> and Gitanga<\/strong> road  areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMobility is key to any nation\u2019s growth,\u201d said Hon. Swaka. \u201cUnder my stewardship, we have managed to rehabilitate Muthiora Road, while Salim Road is 80% complete \u2014 and we shall soon embark on the remaining stretch. Around Hope Centre, we\u2019ve carpeted roads up to the well-known Kwa Tsuma and Mungai areas. Currently, we are rehabilitating Kibue Road, which links Kongo area to Gitanga Road.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n


The Kibue Road project, now in full swing, is viewed as a lifeline for thousands of residents<\/strong> who have long struggled with impassable roads, especially during the rainy season. Once complete, it will drastically ease transport and boost local business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe completion of this vital road will bring immense relief to our people. This was a key campaign pledge, and I\u2019m glad Governor Johnson Sakaja<\/strong> heard my calls and supported this project. I assure the people of Gatina that we shall deliver on every single promise we made,\u201d he affirmed.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n


Hon. Swaka\u2019s strong working relationship with Dagoretti North MP Hon. Beatrice Elachi<\/strong> and the Nairobi County Government<\/strong> has been instrumental in driving development within the ward. Together, they have not only upgraded roads but also enhanced security<\/strong> by installing streetlights along all major link routes \u2014 a move that has made it safer for traders and \u201cmama mbogas\u201d to operate even after dusk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Leader Within Reach<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond his visible development record, Hon. Swaka stands out for his accessibility and humility<\/strong>. Residents say he is among the few leaders who remain constantly available to listen to their concerns \u2014 whether at the ward office, community events, or informal gatherings.
His calm demeanor, open-door policy, and respect for all have earned him admiration across political and social divides, making him an ideal leader for the people of Gatina<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Education: The Great Equalizer<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond infrastructure, Hon. Swaka \u2014 fondly referred to as \u201cMwalimu\u201d<\/strong> owing to his teaching background \u2014 has prioritized education<\/strong> as a cornerstone of his leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Everyone in Gatina deserves equal opportunity,\u201d he emphasized.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n


As 2027 draws nearer, the people of Gatina Ward have tangible evidence<\/strong> of transformation under their first-term MCA \u2014 from rehabilitated roads and streetlights to an equitable bursary distribution system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And as he puts it in his signature mantra:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
