These efforts aim to foster safer, more inclusive work environments, recognizing that addressing GBVH is essential for gender equality, business performance, and economic empowerment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>Gender-Based Violence Center of Expertise<\/strong> will serve as a global knowledge hub, equipping IFC clients and private sector partners with toolkits, training, and advisory support to prevent and respond to GBVH. It will support companies in implementing policies that build safer, more resilient workplaces and communities through a culture of respect and accountability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>Respect@Work Program<\/strong>, launched under the <strong>Kenya2Equal Initiative<\/strong> in partnership with the <strong>Federation of Kenya Employers (FKE)<\/strong>, complements the Center by offering a peer-learning platform. This initiative enables companies to collaborate, share experiences, and implement strategies based on international best practices \u2014 including <strong>ILO Convention 190<\/strong> \u2014 to create respectful and harassment-free workplaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c<strong>Gender-based violence and harassment is not just a personal issue \u2014 it\u2019s a workplace issue that requires urgent, collective action,<\/strong>\u201d said <strong>Gillian Rogers<\/strong>, IFC\u2019s Principal Country Officer in Kenya. \u201cWorkplaces free from violence and harassment are more productive, innovative, and inclusive. IFC is committed to partnering with the private sector to build environments where every worker feels safe, valued, and empowered.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Research highlights the strong business case for addressing GBVH, linking safer workplaces with higher employee retention, increased productivity, stronger reputations, and greater innovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About IFC<\/strong><br>IFC\u2014a member of the World Bank Group\u2014is the largest global development institution focused on the private sector in emerging markets.
