Nairobi, Kenya \u2013<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Upper Savanna Ward MCA and Nairobi Deputy Majority Whip, Hon. Stazo Omung\u2019ala, has come out strongly to defend ODM legislators Hon. George Aladwa (Makadara) and Hon. Beatrice Elachi (Dagoretti North) against what he termed \u201cbaseless and reckless\u201d allegations made by Cleophas Malala, Deputy Party Leader of the so-called Gachagua Alliance Party.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Malala had alleged that the two MPs were being used to assemble \u201cgoons\u201d to disrupt the planned reception of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua in Nairobi \u2014 claims that Omung\u2019ala says are not only unfounded but also deeply insulting to the dignity of ODM and its leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cLet me state categorically and without fear of contradiction: these allegations are baseless, reckless, and an insult to the integrity of our party. Hon. Aladwa and Hon. Elachi are respected leaders, not only within ODM but across their constituencies. Dragging their names into Mr. Malala\u2019s political theatrics is irresponsible and undermines the spirit of the political partnership ODM currently has with the government,\u201d said Omung\u2019ala.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n In a strongly worded statement, the Nairobi MCA dismissed Malala\u2019s remarks as \u201cpolitical scriptwriting\u201d gone too far.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cMr. Malala, we know you are an accomplished scriptwriter, but please understand this: Kenya\u2019s politics is not your drama festival, and ODM leaders will not be cast as extras in your political plays.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n Omung\u2019ala further emphasized that ODM remains committed to delivering on its development agenda through a structured working relationship with the Kenya Kwanza government, adding that the party will not be drawn into divisive distractions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cODM is focused on service delivery. We refuse to be distracted by schemes designed to generate headlines and manufacture political tension,\u201d he said. \u201cAs ODM leaders, we stand united, and we urge our supporters to treat Mr. Malala\u2019s claims with the contempt they deserve.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n He called on the Gachagua Alliance Deputy Party Leader to focus on managing internal affairs within his own party, instead of dragging ODM leaders into unnecessary confrontations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cODM will not allow its members to be used as pawns in political squabbles that are neither of our making nor of our interest,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n Hon. Omung\u2019ala\u2019s statement adds to the growing chorus of criticism from Nairobi-based leaders of Luhya descent who have accused Malala of reckless politicking and stoking unnecessary tensions. The city politician joins a list of prominent Luhya voices from the Mulembe nation who are pushing back against what they view as divisive and counterproductive conduct from one of their own.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In conclusion, Omung\u2019ala urged calm and restraint among residents of Upper Savanna, Makadara, and across Nairobi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cLet us remain focused on development. Let us ignore political theatrics. ODM is united. ODM is focused.
