The stage is truly set for the much-anticipated TotalEnergies CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2024<\/strong>, with a total of 68 elite match officials<\/strong> drawn from over 30 CAF Member Associations<\/strong> arriving in Kenya<\/strong> to begin pre-tournament preparations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The delegation, comprising 26 referees<\/strong>, 26 assistant referees<\/strong>, and 18 Video Match Officials (VMOs)<\/strong>, gathered today for their official Pre-Tournament Training<\/strong> held at the Police Sacco Grounds in Nairobi<\/strong>. The exercise is part of CAF\u2019s broader commitment to ensuring world-class officiating throughout the regional tournament co-hosted by Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Zanzibar<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the standout names is Kenya\u2019s own Nyagrowa Dickens Mimisa<\/strong>, who will serve as a centre referee<\/strong>. Mimisa, fresh from officiating at the AFCON U20 tournament in Cairo<\/strong>, is leading the Kenyan contingent with pride and poise. (See photo below.)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nairobi: CAF\u2019s Central Hub for CHAN 2024<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In a significant development, CAF has designated Nairobi as the official command centre<\/strong> for all CHAN 2024 match officials. All referees and VMOs will be based at The Glee Hotel<\/strong> in Nairobi, regardless of where their assigned matches take place \u2014 whether in Kampala, Dar es Salaam, or Zanzibar<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Officials will be required to report back to Kenya<\/strong> after every assignment, making Nairobi the heartbeat of the officiating structure for this year\u2019s tournament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
