Together, they represent a rich tapestry of perspectives on how communities can leverage digital tools to safeguard, share, and evolve their cultural identities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event builds on successful editions held in <strong>2020<\/strong> and <strong>2022<\/strong>, with this year\u2019s focus shifting toward <strong>grassroots-driven approaches<\/strong> to heritage conservation, especially in regions facing conflict or climate challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Voices from the Frontlines of Heritage Work<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ruth McKenzie CBE<\/strong>, Director of Arts at the British Council, emphasized the broader significance of cultural heritage:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cOur cultural heritage is more than memory \u2014 it\u2019s a space for creativity and social progress. Through the conversations in Nairobi, we\u2019re exploring how to responsibly use technology to support local traditions and inclusive narratives.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Maureen Anzaye<\/strong>, who leads the British Council\u2019s <strong>Cultural Heritage Programme<\/strong>, added:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cThis forum puts community voices at the center of heritage work. We\u2019re learning how digital innovation can help communities share and protect their culture in authentic and accessible ways.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Dr. Kimani Njogu<\/strong>, linguist and Executive Director of Twaweza Communications, noted:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cSafeguarding indigenous knowledge requires us to adapt as technology evolves.
