I have told my party leader that there was a time when it was very easy to be the SG of ODM\u2026 You would wake me up in the middle of the night and ask me anything because we agreed that you can compromise on tactics, but you can never compromise on your values,\u201d Sifuna said, as tweeted by <em>@citizentvkenya<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>He continued:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cThere are things that ODM stands for. When you ask me my position on devolution or rights under Article 37, I would give you the answer straight away. But right now, there is a lot of confusion because I come to this show and I struggle to explain that we are the same political party.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Sifuna cited examples of former senior ODM officials now holding government positions as a major cause of the public\u2019s uncertainty about ODM&#8217;s political direction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cYou see a member of ODM who used to be in a premier position\u2014now he is the Cabinet Secretary\u2014and it leaves our supporters very confused,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>In response, Kileleshwa MCA <strong>Robert Alai<\/strong> took to his <strong>official Facebook page<\/strong>, blasting Sifuna for what he called \u201cparroting\u201d without offering real value to the party\u2019s strategic direction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cEvery political party has parrots and strategists. Sifuna is the party\u2019s parrot\u2014nothing more. He adds no strategic value to ODM,\u201d Alai wrote.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Alai accused the Senator of focusing too much on national television appearances and attacking President William Ruto, while failing to carry out his constitutional role of oversight at the Nairobi County level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cSifuna finds it easier to target Ruto, someone who won\u2019t respond, rather than face Governor Sakaja, whom he\u2019s supposed to hold accountable. That\u2019s not courage\u2014it\u2019s distraction,\u201d said Alai.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>The Kileleshwa MCA also claimed Sifuna failed to energize ODM\u2019s grassroots in Nairobi during the last general election, and couldn\u2019t even rally support for the party in his home constituency of Kanduyi, Bungoma County.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alai further slammed Sifuna for allegedly undermining senior ODM leaders like Opiyo Wandayi, Wycliffe Oparanya, and John Mbadi\u2014whom Sifuna reportedly described on the show as \u201cout of touch with current realities.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cNow he insults the same leaders who\u2019ve held ODM together for years, pretending he\u2019s the only one with sense.
