AFC Leopards Secretary General hopeful Robert Situma has officially been cleared by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to contest in the club\u2019s forthcoming elections, setting the stage for a high-stakes battle at the ballot box.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Situma, clad in a royal blue suit and beaming with his signature smile, arrived at the IEBC offices in Kasarani to a thunderous welcome. The vibrant Isukuti drums, led by the renowned Ainea of the Ingwe Isukuti crew, reverberated through the grounds as supporters celebrated his clearance. Situma joined in the festivities, showcasing a shoulder dance in homage to his Luhya roots\u2014a spirited moment that underscored his deep cultural and community connection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A respected Human Resources practitioner, Situma impressed IEBC officials with his meticulous documentation, earning swift clearance in just 11 minutes. Returning Officer Mr. Chalai praised Situma\u2019s organization, noting, \u201cThis candidate had all his documents in perfect order. We commend his professionalism and wish him well in the election<\/em><\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking after receiving his clearance certificate, Situma lauded the IEBC for what he termed a smooth and professional process, expressing optimism about the credibility of the upcoming polls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI am grateful to the IEBC for their warmth and efficiency. Today\u2019s experience reinforces my belief that we are headed for a free and fair election, which is critical for the integrity of our club,\u201d he stated<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Situma also took a moment to reflect on his journey, attributing his progress to divine grace and the overwhelming support from club members during his branch tours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI thank God for bringing us this far. The love and encouragement I\u2019ve received from our members has been humbling. It has strengthened my resolve to offer transformative leadership to this great club,\u201d he said<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Demonstrating statesmanship, Situma extended goodwill to his fellow aspirants, acknowledging the passion they bring to the race.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Situma unveiled a detailed four-point agenda that he says will form the foundation of his administration if elected:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Managerial Pillar<\/strong>: A commitment to restructure the club’s governance by clearly defining the roles of NEC members and establishing an empowered secretariat led by a Chief Executive Officer. This, he said, would separate politics from day-to-day operations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Commercial Pillar<\/strong>: Situma aims to diversify the club\u2019s revenue streams through expanded merchandise lines\u2014jerseys, jackets, hoodies, and more\u2014tailored to different market segments. He also plans to strengthen strategic partnerships to boost financial sustainability.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Communal Pillar<\/strong>: He pledges deeper engagement with the club\u2019s branches and community networks, alongside enhanced welfare systems for players and members.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Youth Development<\/strong>: Situma emphasized the need to rebuild the club\u2019s youth structures, proposing feeder academies for both boys and girls. He also called for renewed partnerships with traditional football strongholds such as Kakamega High School, St. Peter\u2019s Mumias, and Shanderema.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    \u201cWe must revive the structures that once gave us legends like Peter Lichungu and the late Shilasi. These partnerships are long overdue, and under my watch, they will be restored,\u201d he affirmed<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

    Situma\u2019s campaign received a significant endorsement after three rival aspirants shelved their bids in his favour\u2014a move he described as both humbling and motivating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \u201cTheir support gives me a strong impetus to work harder and deliver on our shared vision for the club. It\u2019s a testament to the unity of purpose that we must foster at Ingwe,\u201d he noted<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

    With the countdown to June 29th now underway, Situma will face off against Renee Sitawa and Isaac Mulindi in what is expected to be a closely watched contest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    As the race for the Secretary General seat intensifies, all eyes turn to Don Bosco\u2014the heart of AFC Leopards administration\u2014where the club\u2019s future leadership will be decided.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
