The second edition of Nairobi’s ghetto run marathon  is promising fireworks. This follows the success of the first edition that was held at Gatina Primary school in Dagoretti North constituency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Riding on the success and the positive impact of the first edition, Community Relations Foundations (CRF) a non profit making NGO has organised for the second edition which shall be held in Westlands constituency’s Kabete Technical Institute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking to www.goodmorningkenya.com, Moses Kavalla the CEO of CRF said that the NGO’s plan is to ensure that our people co exist harmoniously as they fight crime, climate change and drug abuse among our people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Buoyed by the success of our first edition of Ghetto Marathon which was held in Dagoretti North and going by the enormous feedback we have so far received, it pleases us to hold the 2nd edition at the Kabete Technical Institute  on the 30th of June. We want to thank our parrners for the support yhey have kept on according us which is goong along way in changing lives in our informal settlements. I wish to thank the Standard group for going an extra mile in partnering with CRF in ensuring that our community remains safe as we keep spreading the anti Domestic violence message through their numerous media outlets. I also wish to invite each and everybody to sign up and be part of the forthcoming  event as we change lives”<\/p>CEO moses Kavalla<\/cite><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

First edition was won by Nicolas Chelule.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nicolas Chelule ran an impressive time of 48min 50.65 sec to emerge the winner of the 15k Nairobi Ghetto Run .
Chelule a half marathon specialist is an experienced runner who finished 4th in Runner Lab half marathon in Genk Belgium in July 2002 and also 4th in the Scania half marathon of August 2022 in Nederlands.
He hit the finishing tape ahead of second place Felix Bett and third place Martin Mumo also a winner of the UK ran Nation half marathon in August this year.
In the Women Category former 5,000 and 10,000 meters runner Diana Chepkorir ran 54.28.5 sec ahead of Monica Wanjiku and Mercy Chemutai respectively .
The Nairobi Ghetto Run saw an impressive entry of Elite runners with the winners receiving Ksh 100,000 .

2024 edition to feature People living  with disabilities<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Drifting from last year’s  edition, the 2024 edition will be divided in four categories<\/p>\n\n\n\n

15Km race for men<\/em><\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Elites runners  running 21 and 10k. To pay 1000ksh.
Community and students  running 10km to pay 500ksh
Children  under 13 yrs free entry
People living with disabilities free entry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prizes for the different categories have also been revised to make the second edition even better and greater.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
