{"id":13523,"date":"2022-05-04T10:04:00","date_gmt":"2022-05-04T10:04:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/goodmorningkenya.com\/wp\/?p=13523"},"modified":"2022-05-04T10:05:04","modified_gmt":"2022-05-04T10:05:04","slug":"igathe-in-an-early-morning-tour-of-marikiti-market-to-drum-up-support","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/goodmorningkenya.com\/wp\/?p=13523","title":{"rendered":"Igathe in an early morning tour of Marikiti market to drum up support."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Azimio La Umoja- OKA Nairobi Gubernatorial aspirant Polycarp Igathe has today received the backing of traders at the famous Wakulima \u201cMarikiti\u201d market in Nairobi\u2019s Starehe constituency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The former Nairobi Deputy Governor, who is gunning to be the capital\u2019s fourth governor, was an early bird today when he made a surprise 5:00 AM visit to the fresh produce market in a bid to understand what the traders at the market go through in their day to day work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is in line with his ongoing campaign dubbed \u2018Nairobi Mwataka Nini?\u2019 in which, Igathe and his running mate former Kibwezi MP prof. Philip Kaloki are looking to collect the views of Nairobi residents on the services they would like delivered to them as opposed to imposing a manifesto on the people, which are hardly ever implemented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201c<strong><em>Today, I have come to see first-hand what you go through because I want us to identify our problems as the people of Nairobi and work on how to resolve them,\u201d Igathe said<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAs Jubilee, we are looking to identify hat it is that the people of Nairobi want and that is why I wanted to come to work early with you to understand your business,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><strong><em>\u201cMonica Njeri, a trader on behalf of the traders said that this is the first time that they have seen a leader who has a genuine desire to learn of their problems and vowed to rally behind the Igathe- Kaloki ticket come August general Elections<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe shall vote for Igathe early in the morning, just like he has come early in the morning to seek to know our problems.
