{"id":13111,"date":"2022-03-27T07:17:41","date_gmt":"2022-03-27T07:17:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/goodmorningkenya.com\/wp\/?p=13111"},"modified":"2022-03-27T08:11:42","modified_gmt":"2022-03-27T08:11:42","slug":"13111","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/goodmorningkenya.com\/wp\/?p=13111","title":{"rendered":"Man behind Kidero and Laikipia Governor Ndiritu gubernatirial success Joins Ngatia&#8217;s Nairobi Governorship Campaign Team"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Former university student leader James Mwangi (JM) aka Woodboy the man behind the election of two governors into office has joined the campaigns of Nairobi gubernatorial aspirant Richard Ngatia as the businessman\u2019s campaign manager.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Made Kidero governor Nairobi county, and Nderitu Muriithi Laikipia governor, will he deliver Richard Ngatia to city hall?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Woodboy is credited for being the force behind the election of former Mumias Sugar Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dr Evans Kidero as the Nairobi governor in 2013.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prior to Kidero\u2019s election as Nairobi Governor, Woodboy worked in the Evans Kidero (EK) Centre as a Special Programmes coordinator which was Kidero\u2019s campaign vehicle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Woodboy used his position at the EK Centre to assist Kidero a first time politician competing against seasoned politicians like the then Embakasi Member of Parliament (MP) and former councilor Ferdinand \u201cBaba Yao\u201d Waititu who was competing against Kidero to penetrate at the grassroots hence Kidero\u2019s election as governor<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2017, Woodboy shifted base to Rift Valley to campaign former assistant minister Ndiritu Muriithi who was eyeing the Laikipia gubernatorial post.<br><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/kenyaonlinenews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/woodboy-2-400x266.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Woodboy faced an uphill task of campaigning for Muriithi a nephew to retired president Mwai Kibaki who was seeking to wrestle the seat from the incumbent Jubilee Party\u2019s candidate Joseph Irungu in the Jubilee dominated county.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Running as independent after losing the Jubilee nominations, Woodboy\u2019s campaign machine saw Muriithi beat the odds to get elected as the only non Jubilee Party candidate<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the 2017, elections in Laikipia, Jubilee won all the 15 wards, three parliamentary seats in the county, senate and women\u2019s representative posts. Its only the governor\u2019s seat won by Muriithi that was the only one that Jubilee Party candidate didn\u2019t win in the county.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This time ahead of the 2022 general elections, Woodboy has made a comeback in the city to take charge of Ngatia\u2019s campaigns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ngatia intends to tap into Woodboy\u2019s mobilization skills and campaign machine to propel to City Hall to be the fourth occupant as Nairobi\u2019s governor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Former university student leader James Mwangi (JM) aka Woodboy the man behind the election of two governors into office has joined the campaigns of Nairobi gubernatorial aspirant Richard Ngatia as the businessman\u2019s campaign manager.
