The Azimio la Umoja Nairobi gubernatorial aspirant Richard Ngatia has embarked on a campaign to advocate for sober, mature, respectful, peaceful and issue based campaigns ahead of the movement\u2019s nominations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ngatia who is the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) boss will use the slogan \u2018No War\u2019 which is being used by sports federations during matches to condemn and call to an end the Russian invasion of Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ngatia is using the \u201cNo War\u201d campaign to educate and appeal to aspirants in Nairobi under the Azimio la Umoja movement for respect, mature and peaceful campaigns and discourage the use of confrontational politics, abuses, mud-slinging, hate speech and incitement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cCampaigning for political seats is not war and should not be used to fight each or make enmity but an opportunity or platform of engaging in a battle of ideas on how the candidates transformative agenda for the people they intend to represent,\u201d said Ngatia<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
Ngatia said Azimio la Umoja if translated from Swahili to English means a \u2018A Declaration of Unity\u2019 and if the campaigns are based on abuses, insults and spoiling each other\u2019s names will leave the movement divided which will give their competitors an opportunity to penetrate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cLet\u2019s make our campaigns be based on issues or a competition of ideas instead of targeting personalities because you want to get elected is dirty politics and immature,\u201d said Ngatia<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
Ngatia said he looks forward to united Azimio la Umoja after the nominations as the losers and winners will remain one and work together in ensuring that the movement carried the day in Nairobi by sweeping all the seats.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
