Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has set the stage for the August 9 general elections political re-alignments by quiting the ruling Jubilee Party for the Deputy President (DP) William Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance (UDA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sonko who was elected as Nairobi’s Governor in the 2017 general on a Jubilee ticket resigned officially from the party on March 10th, 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sonko is expected to join UDA together with the Deputy President on Saturday, March 12th, 2022 when they will both officially defect from Jubilee to UDA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a letter dated March 10th, addressed to the Jubilee headquarters, Sonko informed the party that he had resigned as it’s member with immediate effect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Please accept this letter as my formal notice of resignation as a member of Jubilee party effective March 10th, 2021,” said Sonko<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
Sonko thanked Jubilee for the support that they had accorded him during his tenure as the governor of Nairobi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
