Hon Mary Aliviza Mwami ODM\u2019s nominated member of the Nairobi county assembly has thrown her hut into the ring for the vacant Dagoretti North seat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mary Alividza Mwami(Mwami in luhya dialect loosely translates to leader) is a seasoned politician and a woman who is so passionate when it comes to matters education and human rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking on one of the FM stations, Hon Aliviza said that she has a clear cut vision on what she want for her Dagoretti North people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI have been a resident and a voter here in Dagoretti North  for over 15 years. I understand pretty well what ails my people. Issues to do with noise pollution due to the mushrooming night clubs, water, sewer issues, roads and gabbage will be my priority upon getting elected\u201d Mwami said<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hon Alivitsa will become only the second female Mp for Dagoretti North after Beth Mugo. But will she fit in the big shoes left by Simba Arati who has since shifted base to Kisii?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Hon Simba Arati has done some good work as our MP for two terms. I wish him well in his next political journey.However the question of fitting in his shoes does not suffice here. I have my own style of doing things. I will report to work in my own shoes and do my best to move this great constituency forward” she said<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Nicknamed the limping general, Hon Alivitsa shoots straight and has no apologies when it comesvto her party of choice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt is Baba\u2019s party that sponsored me into the county assemby, I will therefore offer myself for election on Baba\u2019s party\u201d she said.<\/p>

# Passon for education.<\/strong>

Hon Aliviza is an education champion and through her own personal initiatives, she has helped over 200 students study in secondary schools, tertiary institutions, and universities around the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEducation is key and helping young boys and girls achieve some level of education is what gives me joy. I have been Able to help quite a good number and with my elevation soon as an elected member, I will do much\u201d added Mwami<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Hon Mary Aliviza is also a well educated woman with several degrees under her sleeve. She is also a counselling psychologist who is currently pursuing a PHD.
Hon Alividza is a born again recording artist who has also released several albums praising God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apart from Hon Mary Aliviza, the Dagoretti North seat has attracted two other women ie Former county speaker Hon Elachi and newcomer Norah Bosibori.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a new dawn as we see more women go for elective seats in a bid to cure the two thirds gender rule deficiency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
