Provide conducive environment for local investors: Bunge La Mwananchi’s Ababu says

Bunge la Mwananchi president Hon John Mark Ababu has asked the to provide an enabling environment for local companies and traders as we combat covid 19.

Speaking during his weekly media briefing, Mr Ababu noted that to fight covid 19 successfully a wholistic approach should be employed.
Mr Ababu took issue with how KRA was handling Keroche industries despite the company providing job opportunities to thousands of Kenyans.
Unless the government re-evaluates how they deal with local investors or else many will shut down fearing hostility and unfair trade restrictions.

‘‘Right now we are staring job losses. we want to ask KRA to please go slow on how they deal with local companies because if we are not careful they will collapse and many Kenyans will lose jobs.’’ Ababu said.

KRA and Keroche have been in a tussle over unpaid taxes which KRA insist must be fixed.

Ababu has also asked government to up the tempo in the
fight against Covid 19 and save Kenyans from adverse economic effects and looming loss of lives. On strict measures as eateries re open, Ababu observed that asking restaurants to re apply for certification will expose them to unnecessary costs considering that most hotel owners had complied early this year
