Hon. Mayunzu warms hearts of Kangemi residents: donated food water and sanitizers!

Taking cue from the head of state who has said we all unite and fight the corona virus pandemic, Hon Carolyne Mayunzu is leading from the front.

The Odm party nominated member of the Nairobi county assembly using part of her resources and donations mobilized from friends has warmed hearts of many Westlands dwellers.

“With the covid 19 pandemic taking toll on all sectors of our economy, most of our people are struggling to meet some of the basic needs that they would have otherwise met with ease. It is on this backdrop that i used part of my little resources plus some donations to try and help my brothers and sisters to atleast put food on the table” Mayunzu said.

It is not easy to feed all this people and as Nairobi leaders we are appealing to president Uhuru to move with speed and set aside funds to cushion our people from starvation.

Hon Mayunzu is worried that as we fight covid 19, our people are likely to starve to death.
“Most of our people work in restaurants in town while young men work in construction sites. With most businesses closed, it is not easy for them” She added.

Martha Njeri a mother of two who works as a casual laborer in Westands thanked Hon Mayunzu for the kind gesture and urged all leaders to emulate her.

Nairobi county assembly has set a side 1b to help fight covid 19 pandemic with each ward set to get 1M for the same.
As part of her war on Covid 19, Hon Mayunzu helped distribute water to over 500 households in Kangemi ward area of Westlands constituency.

“To fight corona virus, we need to regularly wash our hands and without water we cannot win the war” Hon Mayunzu said.

More than 500 households received Unga, salad vegetables and sanitizers. Other leaders like Tessie Mudavadi the wife to Hon Mudavadi and Hon Tim Wanyonyi have also started the same gesture.

“Our brother and sisters in the medical profession are leading this war from the hospitals, let us make their work easy by not venturing out hence spreading the virus even more” Mayunzu.
