That same grit would later characterize his political approach. He first ventured into politics as a councillor on a KANU ticket. Though unsuccessful in his initial bid, his boldness caught the attention of then President Daniel Arap Moi, who brought him into the influential KANU political machinery in Nairobi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Under Moi\u2019s mentorship, Aladwa sharpened his political instincts, rising through the ranks to become a key figure in city politics\u2014eventually serving as the last Mayor of Nairobi and later as Makongeni Ward representative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><br><strong><em>From KANU to ODM: Mastering Political Transitions<\/em><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Aladwa\u2019s strength has always been his ability to read the political tide. As KANU\u2019s influence waned in 2002, he seamlessly aligned himself with the LDP\/NARC wave that swept Kenya.
