Football administrators since 1964.
1.Isaac Lugonzo…1963-1964.
Later became Nairobi Mayor in 1967.
2. John Kasyoka 1964-1968.
Gor and Afc were formed during his tenure. Besides soccer, Kasyoki held the 800M record, played Badminton and table tennis. Later he became the Kenya Olympic Association boss from 1971-78.
3.1968/ Jonathan Njenga took over from Kasyoki but his stinct was shortlived.
4. Hon Martin Joseph Shikuku : 1970-1973. Shikuku highly showed open biasness towards Afc over Gor. His tenure was shambolic forcing Hon Masinde Muliro the then co op and social services minister to move in and disband his team. Billy Martin and Joab Omino appointed as chair and sg respectively.
5. William Humphrey Ngaah 1973-1974.
6. 1973/74 Dan Owino wrestled power from William Ngaah.
7. Ken Matiba 1974-78.
Matiba walked out of Kenya Football Association with 80 clubs and formed Kff.
Matiba is credited for bringing some level of proffessionalism and shunned witchcraft something that Gor and Afc relied heavily on.
when Norwich city fc visited to play Afc and Gor, Mr Matiba allowed them to use their best magicians and beat Norwich. The two giants lost badly to the visitors and Matiba’s point was home. Witchraft dont work.
# Why Owino hated Gor
8. Dan Owino 1978-1979.
Just the same way Shikuku hated Gor Mahia, Dan Owino hated Gor more. This was partly because he was once a chairman of Gor’s splinter group. His reign was shambolic and it forced the then sports minkster Robert Matano to disband it and call in Chris Obure a former player to head it under Kenya National Sports council KNSC.
Best leadership
9. Hon Clement Gachanja 1980-1984.
Urguably the best federations boss, under Gachanja Kenya went on to win Cecafa cup 3times in a row. With Mahllon Danga as his Sg, the league was well run.
10. Hon Joab Omino 1984-1991-93 & 1993-1996.
As a former player and riding on Clement Gachanja’s stability, Omino succeeded in taking the national team to Afcon 3times.
Had it not been due to his opposition brand of politics in Ford Kenya, Kenya was set to host the 1996 Afcon which later went to South Africa. Moi could not stand Omino a member of the opposition taking all the glory for bringing Afcon home.
11. Hon Mathew Adams Karauri 1996. When Omino was toppled, Karauri took over.
12. Hon Peter Kenneth 1996-2000.
The young Peter Kenneth took over bringing some tranquility.
It was under Peter Kenneth that for the first time the league got a sponsor in B.A.T and KBL.
This was however short lived as Twaha Mbaraka ignited new wrangles. Peter Kenneth declared he was quiting and joined politics.
13)Maina Kariuki 2001-2004.
His was the most corrupt regime. At one point Kenya hosted Swaziland and over 8M in vate collection went missing. The government could not take it anymore and his team was dissolved by Hon Nyenze the then sports minister.
14. Hon Alfred Sambu 2004-2006
Buoyed by his past success at Afc leopards, Hon Sambu was elected to replace Maina. Sambu was a silent boss which made Titus Kasuve and Mohammed Hatimy to run the show hence wrangles leading to his exit. Sambu was toppled during an Agm and Hatimy took over. Sambu’s exit ushered in Nyamweya Sam.

15.Mohammed Hatimy 2006./7-2011.
This was the darkest hour of our soccer times. Nyamweya /Hatimy wars grounded sports operations.
Hatimy formed FKL (Footbal Kenya Limited) while Nyamweya seized KFF. Fifa backed Hatimy forcing Nyamweya back to the drawing board.
Hatimy”s era was a great ertor. During his tenure Kenya lost to Uganda 1-5. Nothing seemed to work well.
In 2009 Sports minister Hon Hellen Sambili appointed Dr Vimal Shah to arbitrate the Nyamweya /Hatimy war but in vain.
Fifa’s fury was invited on Kenya and a ban slapped on Kenya.
16. Sam Nyamweya 2011-2016.
Exit Hatimy enter Nyamweya with Fkf.
Nyamweya managed to snatch reigns from Hatimy but also he borrowed the corrupt and mismamagemment.
Nyamweya killed grassroot soccer
Sakata ball was killed with Nyamweya demanding 15percent from sponsors.
Nyamweya gagged reformers like Dr Shikanda and Shollei.
No records at Kandanda house and corruption was at its peak.
# New hope and Stability.
17. Nick Mwendwa.
The youthful technoprenuer is a soccer enthusiast. Founder of Kariobangi fc, Nick has worked hard to return soccer to the people.
Under Nick, Harambee stars graced the Afcon show piece and the homeboys gave a good account of themselves.The preparation of the national team was one of the best.
Nick is going for his second term paired with Doris Petra who is a strong proponent of women soccer.
Under the duo, woman soccer has grown to its all time high and several ladies now plying professional soccer in Europe.
